Restore Wisconsin’s Housing Affordability
Restore Wisconsin
“A Home You Can Buy When You’re Young, and Keep When You’re Old”
Rising property taxes are forcing some seniors on fixed incomes out of the homes they’ve lived in for decades. It’s unfair. Young people can no longer afford to build a starter home. If elected to the Assembly, Jon is committed to a targeted property tax freeze for seniors and a plan to get more starter homes for young families.
Restoring Wisconsin means restoring the dream of homeownership for every generation. Jon’s two-part plan addresses both ends of the crisis.
-
IMMEDIATE: Double the Homestead Tax Credit for qualifying seniors: up to $1,000 in annual relief, no constitutional change needed.
-
LONG-TERM: Permanent property tax freeze for income-qualified seniors via Constitutional Amendment. Jon will start that fight now.
-
YOUNG FAMILIES: First in line for federal ROAD to Housing Act funds: cuts red tape, builds starter homes, caps hedge fund ownership at 350 single-family homes.
